The BASIQ International Conference on New Trends in Sustainable Business and Consumption Series
The BASIQ International Conference Series on New Trends in Sustainable Business and Consumption was launched in 2015 by the BASIQ Association (Association for Innovation and Quality in Sustainable Business).
The BASIQ Association was established by a group of university professors from the Department of Business, Consumer Sciences and Quality Management at the Faculty of Business and Tourism, within the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies. Today, the association comprises 78 dedicated members – teachers and researchers from Romania and abroad.
BASIQ Association’s Commitment
BASIQ members are committed to advancing and disseminating knowledge in the economic field to promote:
- Innovation, Quality, and Social Responsibility in business.
- The modernization and competitiveness of companies.
- The performance of public policies aimed at the consumer, the business environment, and society at large.
The primary activity of the BASIQ Association is the annual organization of this international conference series.
The Vision: Why BASIQ Matters
The conference series was initiated recognizing that globalization and rapid technological advances are fundamentally reshaping the economy, accelerating societal changes, and elevating sustainability concerns.
These transformations present both opportunities and threats, challenging society’s capacity to responsibly anticipate mutations, make forward-looking choices, and creatively balance aspirations with available resources. This dynamic environment necessitates the contribution of scholars to:
- Identify new trends and assess their implications.
- Provide new paradigms and practical solutions.
- Inform policy makers and business leaders.
- Accelerate knowledge dissemination.
Aims & Scope
The conference aims to stimulate the exchange of research results, theoretical perspectives, and practical insights regarding the impact of emerging trends in business and consumer behavior, with particular emphasis on sustainability, innovation, and societal responsibility. The conference encourages interdisciplinary dialogue and promotes collaboration between academia, business, and public institutions in support of sustainable development goals. The scope of the conference encompasses a wide range of topics related to sustainable business and consumption, including but not limited to sustainable management and governance, corporate social responsibility, circular economy, responsible production and consumption, quality management, innovation and entrepreneurship, digital transformation, organizational change, consumer behavior, sustainable supply chains, green marketing, and public policies supporting sustainability transitions.
A distinctive feature of BASIQ is its focus on sustainability and consumption dynamics within Central and Eastern European transition economies, while maintaining a broader international perspective. Particular attention is given to the implications of the European Green Deal, circular economy transitions, digitalization, and emerging business models that contribute to economic competitiveness, environmental protection, and social well-being. By integrating these perspectives, BASIQ provides a unique platform for exploring how organizations and consumers respond to contemporary sustainability challenges and opportunities in an increasingly interconnected world.
Conference Objectives and Topics
